About the intervention
In teams of 3-5, ideate worst start-up ideas and pitch them to a panel of more senior students, tutors and/or lecturers. Award prizes for Best Team Roast, 'Dankest' Start-up, and Audience's Unpopular Choice and met out punishments for teams with good ideas.
How to set it up.
Be thoughtful about team distribution to ensure max new connections are made e.g. group seniors with freshers, or ensure every team has members from a different departments.
Choose a theme to ideate around to speed up the process and maximise the laughs.
Prepare enough markers, large sheets of paper, post-it notes, and drinks for everyone.
What to do during.
Give teams an hour to ideate and an additional 30 minutes to create visual aids to present their ideas, this could be a slide show, a skit, or simply a paper chart.
Give each team 3 minutes to pitch their ideas.
The judging panel should roast the idea and met out punishments such as "tell me a joke", "tell me you love bread in your native language, make it sexy", or drink a tequila shot.
